The Bennett

Let me tell you a little something about us: we love gin. We recently discovered a forgotten gin cocktail called The Bennett and we are completely smitten. Basically it’s a a gimlet bumped up with some bitters. Which means that it’s a bit bracing and a lot of pretty. Also very simple to make. So while winter is lingering and the citrus is plentiful, grab yourself some fresh limes and try your hand at The Bennett. If you love gin like we do I promise you won’t be disappointed!

The Bennett (recipe from Imbibe)

  • 2 ounces gin (such as Tanquery No. 10 or Boodles)
  • 3/4 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 3/4 ounce simple syrup
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • Coupe glass
  • Thin lime slice

Combine all ingredients with ice in a cocktail shaker. Shake well and strain into a coupe glass (we love these from Cocktail Kingdom). Garnish with a lime slice. Cheers!

She studied Chemistry and Printmaking at UC Santa Cruz and got her PhD in Plant Biology from UC Davis.
